The tour begins with arrival at La Aurora International Airport and transfer to the hotel in Guatemala City.
The next day, after breakfast, we will visit Antigua Guatemala and its cobblestone streets full of history and art that transport us to the colonial times (half day tour). Afterwards, we will return to the hotel.
On the third day in the morning, we will travel to the Department of Izabal and en route we will visit the archaeological site of Quiriguá, where the stela "C" better known as "The stela of 13 Bak'tun" is located, which indicates the beginning of a new era. This date translates to December 21, 2012. At the end of the visit, we will continue our tour to Izabal and stay there.
The next day, a boat trip is planned along the Rio Dulce, among the tropical flora and diversity of birds. En route, we will visit the San Felipe Castle and the Garífuna population of our country. At the end, we will continue to Flores Island, head of the Department of Petén and center of the Mayan civilization. We will stay there.
On the fifth day, after breakfast, we will visit Yaxhá National Park, one of the largest cities in Petén, where we will find evidence of the use of the Solar Calendar or Haab, as we can observe architectural ensembles. At the end of the tour, we will return to Flores and stay there.
The next day, we will visit Tikal National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which houses the remains of the largest and most important city in the pre-Hispanic history of the Maya. The visit will include lunch (no drinks). At the end of the visit, we will return to Flores Island and stay there.
On the seventh day, after breakfast, we will visit the Uaxactún Archaeological Park, located near Tikal, in Petén, and surrounded by 47 hectares of tropical rainforest in the Mayan Lowlands. In addition to its unparalleled natural beauty, Uaxactun was an important center for the development of monumental art during the Pre-Classic period. At the end of the tour, we will return to Flores and spend the night there.
The next day, after breakfast, you will have the morning free to enjoy the scenery of Flores Island, formerly known as Tayasal in honor of Cirilo Flores, one of Guatemala's first independence fighters. In the afternoon, we will return to Guatemala City by air and stay there.
On the last day, transfer to the airport for your flight back to your home country will be included.
