On the banks of the Tempisque River we will board a boat that will take us to the heart of Palo Verde National Park, which contains one of the most important wetlands in Costa Rica.
Palo Verde National Park, located in the lower basin of the Tempisque River is formed by a set of floodplain ecosystems, is one of the most ecologically diverse places in Costa Rica; there are approximately 15 natural habitats, product of its particular topography, morphological conditions, and hydroclimatic, you can see the mangrove forests on the banks of the river, grassy swamps, grasslands, lowland forests, some remnants of dry tropical forest, flooded forests and evergreen forests.
We will pass in front of the Pajaros Island where you will be able to observe the enormous amount of birds of different colors that shelter the island giving a spectacular colorful environment. Then we head to the wetlands of the private reserve where you can observe the various wetlands restored as original to the farm. You can observe a number of animals in a spectacular wetland restored for 4 years and recognized by RAMSAR as a wetland of global importance.
And to finish the tour we go to the old hacienda where you will live the traditional activities of the hacienda milking cows, herding the oxen or watching the games of ranching life. A unique experience in one place.
