The adventure begins by passing through the Tropical Cloud Forest in Braulio Carrillo National Park. After breakfast at a restaurant in the Guapiles area we will travel to Tortuguero passing near the small village of Cariari de Guapiles and where you will explore the banana plantations.
Once at the La Pavona dock you will embark on a Pantune style boat where you can enjoy the scenery and the boat ride in search of the fauna and flora that are very exuberant in the flooded forests of Tortuguero National Park. Here, you will probably get to see sloths, monkeys, toucans, crocodiles, snakes and many species of birds.
Upon arrival in the town of Tortuguero, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the famous Casona de Tortuguero and appreciate the warmth of the predominant Afro-Costa Rican culture in the Caribbean area of the country.
Afterwards, you will be taken through the trails of the National Park, where you will be guided through the tropical forests to learn about the importance of this coastal ecosystem and the many species that depend on it.
Finally you will embark again on the boat to depart back to the port of Pavona, where the transport is waiting for four to take you to the capital city of San Jose.
