Welcome to Copan Ruins! This artistic city of the Mayan Route is one of the most welcoming in Honduras! You will notice the many pretty flowers at this border crossing as we make our way to your hotel, Hotel Marina Copan.
Today, we will explore the famous ruins of Copán, the most artistic and historical city of the Mayan World. We will begin at the Archaeological Park where we will view the Hieroglyphic Stairway (Escalinata Jeroglifica) which is the longest of the Mayan world, the place of the Mayan Ball Game (Juego de la Pelota) which was considered the social center of the city, and the Great Plaza, famous for its stones and altars. We will visit the Acropolis and the entrances to the Rosalila tunnel as well as the Jaguar tunnel. We will then go to the Bird Park where you can interact and take pictures with various birds in the park and where you will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch in a natural environment.

After an excellent breakfast, we will transfer by private vehicle to travel through the lush, spectacular mountains to Lake Yojoa and the Pulhapanzak Falls. You will learn about the rich culture as you walk through the Naranjos Archaeological Park where you will be welcome to rest on the shores of Lake Lake Yojoa.

A rich breakfast awaits you before travelling to see the mysterious and fascinating Taulabe Caves. Their story and incredible formations are sure to capture your imagination. We will have lunch in Siguatepeque which serves as a necessary junction for anyone travelling from the north or the south. We will then continue to Comayagua, the heart of Central America and the first capital, a city rich in history, culture, and colonial architecture. After such an enriching experience, we will make our way to the capital city of Tegucigalpa.

On this day, we will visit the historical center of Tegucigalpa, a city rich in history and beautiful colonial buildings, a picturesque mining town where you will find crafts made of wood, amongst other handicrafts. We will have lunch in the village before being transferred to the border at Guasaule where you will continue on your journey of discovering Central America.
